One day when I was a young girl, a man showed up at my house in a convertible with a large grey standard poodle sitting in the passenger’s seat. He was delivering my very first pet – a standard poodle named Coco. That dog became one of the most important things in the world to me. I have been an animal lover ever since. Over the years, I have been “Mom” to two cats (Noel and Cheatah), a Russian dwarf hamster (Gus Gus), and most recently a guinea pig (Milly). They all far exceeded their life expectancies because I cared for them as if they were one of my children.
Speaking of my children, they’re both in their 20’s now, and busy with college and graduate school. Being an “empty nester”, I found myself longing for the joy that being around animals had always brought me, but I didn’t want the responsibility of being a pet owner at this stage of my life. It is for this reason that I decided to start Suzy’s Critter Care…to bring joy to my life through my love of animals while helping others at the same time…it’s what I do!! 🙂
